Completed my 31st year. I don’t recall doing much of anything. We were in the midst of finalizing the house purchase and preparing to move.
23. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Nothing. No thing. My source of satisfaction does not change with things/circumstances. The JOY of the Lord is my strength!
24. What kept you sane?
Our Lord. Memorizing scriptures. Truth being spoken to me. Discipline/routine. Limiting what I allow my eyes to see (tv/movies, books,), ears to hear (only music that speaks the Word).
25. What political issue stirred you the most?
Well, the whole gun thing and how the root issue, SIN, is not being dealt with. How we are ALL capable of doing such a thing. And that other brothers/sisters in the Lord are surprised by such actions.
Abortion-the faulty thinking involved for both those considering it & those opposing it
Mental illness- again, the use of this label as an excuse, and SIN not being called SIN.
Same sex marriage- my source is The Word and his definition of marriage is one man and one woman so what is called same sex MARRIAGE, really is not marriage as our Lord defines it.
26. What was the best movie you saw?
In Time, Brake (still confused!), The Marketing of Madness,
27. Who did you miss?
Friends, Family, grandma, Carlee Nicole,
28. Who was the best new person you met?
Casie, my partner in ministry. She has challenged/sharpened me much.
29. A valuable life lesson you learned in 2012?
It’s not enough to ‘just not divorce’
The arrogance of putting off tomorrow
1 John 5:9-12: either He is enough or I am calling Him a liar
Being a lifter of heads
greed
30. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Jeremy camp, LAY DOWN MY PRIDE
I lay down my pride
My desires my demise
I’m ready now to see it Your way
I’m done I’m through ignoring You….
I was faced with passing time but I knew the choice was mine
To finally come to You and give You all control…
Your back was ripped and bruised so I can know Your love
I kneel I bow to You my King
Take This Heart by Rachel Belman
Here I am, a master of sin
Trying to breakout, but I’m pulled back in
You tried to reach out to me
But I was busy with worthless things
I’m sorry that I put you aside
In this life I’ve called my own
I never knew I was so wrong
Let it be a sacrifice
I know I’ve turned away, but I’m here today
Lord, please hear my plea
Let me ways be your ways and my heart be your heart
My life be your life until all know who you are
So take this heart, and purify every part
Of my life until you see more of you than me
The Proof of Your Love by For King & Country
(the whole thing!)
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You’re made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Consecration Medley by Russell Mauldin
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried & true.
With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my will and make it Thine, it will no longer be mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own. It shall be Thy royal throne.
Holiness, holiness is what I long for. Holiness is what I need. Holiness, holiness is what You want from me.
Brokenness, brokenness, is what I long for. Brokenness is what I need.
Brokenness is what You want from me.
